Acquisition Policy

How a work enters the collection

Works are proposed by our curators or brought to us directly by artists and members. Each is reviewed against three questions: does it hold up in a domestic room, will it survive circulation, and does it say something the collection does not already say.

An independent panel meets quarterly. Roughly one work in nine is acquired. Nothing enters the collection on the basis of market momentum.

Submitting work as an artist

The catalogue opens with membership.

Members see every work the club holds, its condition history, and where it has lived.
